KTM had a press conference to announce that both Tyla Rattray and Tommy Searle would remain in europe for 2008. This means that Christophe Pourcel is the only rider we will lose to the AMA series.
Tyla Rattray comments
I will stay in the MX2 class next year and I still think I have a chance to win an MX2 title and KTM want to win the title also. I will change some things for next year and I am very happy.
Tommy Searle comments
It took a long time for my negotiations. Talking with James (Dobb) and Stefan (Everts) and Pit (Beirer) and hopefully we can keep improving and this can be a good one. I am really happy with my decision now and we can look forward to a better 2008 season.
Pit Beirer comments
Thanks for giving us your time. We can make it short, I am happy in this moment that we can announce more about our future. Two very good things for european motocross. First Tyla will stay with us, he signed a new one year contracts and also we can keep Tommy with us in europe. They both had requests from America, I was worried we might lose them, but thanks to Stefan we convinced them that they can stay with us in europe. We can also announce that Stefan will stay for the next two years with KTM. We talked about that in the season and he took the challenge and pushed the team to another level. I want to thanks Stefan for being with us and it's an honor that Stefan stays with us.
Stefan Everts comments
I was very happy to have a good year with Pit, we have always had a good relationship. It was a year to find out how I can manage and I started off to acheive my goals for this year. I am ready now for another two years and I am happy in this position. We really want to challenge for the MX1 World title and be back in the challenge to stay in MX2 contention. I think that Tommy stays in europe is great for the sport here. We have had a tough season, but there are races left to beat that tough blue kid, but we have races still.
